Carla Askew is a speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience evaluating and treating individuals with communication and literacy disorders. She is a co-owner of The Reading & Language Learning Center and holds a master’s degree in Communication Science and Disorders from the University of Pittsburgh. She specializes in evidence-based interventions supporting reading and language development. Carla is a Certified Structured Literacy Teacher and is licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. She co-created Sounds2Print™, RLLC’s IDA/CERI-accredited structured literacy program, and provides professional development and structured literacy training to educators and clinicians in public and private schools. She has presented continuing education for SpeechTherapyPD.com and serves as a guest speaker at George Washington University, the University of Maryland and Saint Elizabeth University.
