What Our Clients Are Saying…

The Reading and Language Learning Center has been amazing for my child. Ben is in 2nd grade and was diagnosed early December with Dyslexia. RLLC was recommended to us and I’m extremely grateful for that. Ben had the opportunity to be a part of an intensive reading duo group and during that time we were able to work with several therapists, each of whom were a delight to work with. The therapists kept each session engaging and fun without sacrificing productivity. Ben quickly built a relationship and personal connections to each therapist at RLLC. We know that Ben has enjoyed each session and looks forward to the games and activities they play.
Although we are at the beginning of our journey, the team has been exceptional and we couldn’t imagine doing this without them. This is even more remarkable given that the majority of their time together has been virtual due to COVID-19. The changeover from in-office to tele-therapy has been completely seamless and we’ve seen noticeable progress & improvements!
Their  support has truly gone above and beyond to help ensure that the assistance he will be getting at school will align with RLLC’s methods. Susan Danker has been an invaluable resource, participating in IEP planning calls to ensure that my son gets the best possible support system.
Overall, Susan and everyone at RLLC are genuinely invested in my child’s education and development. We couldn’t be happier and highly recommend The Reading Language and Learning Center.
Thank you for all your hard work!!”

“Thanks Susan, you really have no idea how much your compliments mean. As you know, we have been working really hard with her the past few years. She’s really coming into her own and I’m so proud of how far she’s come especially during this transition. She loves the new set-up. I wanted to personally thank you and Carla for everything you’ve done over the last couple of years with her. It brings me to tears every time I think about how you’ve taken her in as your family. How you’ve tailored everything for her and comforted me when there was no one else. Your team of talent and truthfulness has me so thankful you exist. We still have a long road ahead but because of the RLLC Team I can stop doubting myself and truly know I’ve made the right decision for her. I’m so grateful for you, Carla, Kate and Karishma. You and Carla have quite the team, the Dream Team! So blessed and so grateful. I will  forever be your biggest fan! Thank you again for doing all you do! “

“My daughter was falling behind grade level in reading halfway through 1st grade. She was frustrated and losing confidence; we didn’t feel comfortable with her school’s assurances that she’d “be fine.” I’m glad we trusted our gut and got an assessment from The Reading and Language Learning Center. Turns out, our daughter had specific skill deficiencies and was diagnosed with a reading disorder.  Within six months of working with her structured literacy therapist Carla Askew, our daughter tested out of intervention at school. And after two years of support, our daughter has tested at or above the benchmark on every reading and spelling skill she initially struggled with. It’s great to have the quantitative evidence of our daughter’s growth, but more important to us is that our child is now a confident student who enjoys reading! Now, she often stays up late into the night reading independently — a “problem” we are more than happy to have.’

“My daughter had been struggling with reading comprehension for years. We started with the Reading Language Learning Center this summer and we are so grateful that we found them. My daughter was very apprehensive about doing any therapy at all, but the therapists reassured me that after she goes to a few sessions and sees how it will benefit her that she would be fine. She now loves it, and doesn’t miss a day unless she is sick. She sees the benefits and is more confident and hopeful that school won’t be as hard for her as it had been. We all wish we had found RLLC years ago.”

“My daughter started at her new school (Latin) last week, and so far the first few days have gone well. The work you have done with her has clearly paid off and she has spend most of the summer avidly reading!”

“Jenn works really hard in finding new ways to teach the needed material to each child so they will learn and see how it does help them in their school work. She also comes up with new ways to keep them engaged during the session so they continue to move forward.”

“Our three children have been working with Susan Danker from RLLC for a few years. Each child had unique goals for working with Susan to include expressive language disorder related to Autistic Spectrum Disorder, pragmatic language challenges, dyslexia, and dysgraphia. The progress our children have made working with Susan has been stunning. Our middle son was the first to start working with Susan; he was verbal but struggled terribly with expressive language and became frustrated easily. After just a few weeks of working with Susan it was like his brain had been unlocked and words began to flow. In her second year working with Susan, our daughter who has severe dyslexia went from reading below grade level to reading above grade level in one school year. Our son who struggles with pragmatic language has learned to better understand his classmates and participate appropriately in conversations with them. Susan has worked tirelessly with our children maintaining goals and objectives for their treatment plans. She has worked to accommodate their academic schedules and collaborate with their teachers to facilitate smooth transitions from the classroom to lessons with Susan as well as to assure the children do not miss important lessons while they are out of the classroom. We are very grateful for Susan and RLLC, Susan is incredibly intelligent and knows how to teach the children the skills they need to achieve success.”
